A manifesto that promises something the app does anyway is worse than none at all. So this page only lists what we deliberately do not build. Six points, every one of them checkable inside the app, because there is nothing you could switch them on with.

Nobody sees whether you are in the app right now.

No last-seen.
When you were last here stays with you.

No read receipts.
Whether you read a message is nobody else's business.

No exact distance.
A profile shows a rough band, never your distance down to the kilometre.

No reach you can buy.
No purchase pushes you further forward on the sofra. There is nothing that could.

No popularity ranking.
How often people like you does not change who you get shown to.
And honestly small beats artificially big.
No purchased profiles, no invented numbers. We grow with real people or not at all. That's why we start with a waitlist and reward those who join from the beginning with 6 months of embla+ free.
These points are not settings. There is nothing you could switch them on with, and nobody who switches them off for money.
